The Project

Our mission: To challenge harmful myths, foster safer training environments, and to promote and protect health and body integrity as the highest priority for dancers, and all those who support them.

To cultivate a world where dancers thrive- empowered by knowledge and supported in their pursuit of health and performance. By raising awareness of RED-D, we aim to dispel harmful myths, create safe training environments, and promote practices that prioritise well-being above all. Equipping dancers, parents, artistic coaches, and dance communities with the tools to recognise and address energy deficiency, allows dancers to  fully experience the joy of dance and develop a healthier relationship with their art, reaching their full potential while safeguarding their health for a long and fulfilling future.

Our Aim

By fostering a cultural change that prioritises health. We raise awareness and empower dancers and their support networks to achieve their full potential and love of dance, while building a healthier future.  Through education we aim to prevent REDs and draw attention to the importance and impact of language in the studio. We offer support to dancers, parents, teachers, dance schools and companies and healthcare teams in all areas of REDs. By these means we will champion change for the future.

What We Do

Project RED-D is dedicated to helping dancers to thrive physically and emotionally by raising awareness about RED-D.

Project RED-D was founded to address the challenges of energy deficiency through providing targeted education, resources, workshops, support and research to promote health, resilience, and longevity in the global dance community.

How We Do it

Project REDs raises awareness and delivers practical tools for preventing and managing RED-D. Our approach includes:

  • Challenging harmful myths and driving industry-wide change to create safer, healthier training environments

  • Equipping dancers, coaches, and healthcare professionals to identify and address RED-D early

  • Promoting sustainable fuelling and body composition practices to support long-term health and peak performance

  • Delivering workshops and training on RED-D prevention, optimal fuelling, and action plans for schools and dance companies

  • Providing a supportive platform where dancers can share experiences and access recovery resources
